Virgil A. Lambert, age 65, of Canton, passed away Monday morning in Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born November 20, 1944 in Wilmington, NC., son to the late Virgil A. and Zetta Lambert. He was a 1963 graduate of Timken High School and had worked for many years as a mechanic with the Stark County Engineer. Virgil enjoyed collecting model trains and enjoyed antique cars. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Akers. He is survived by his wife of nearly 22 years, Kathy ( Auten) Lambert of the home; two step daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Nettles of Nicut, WV., Elizabeth Davisson of Ocala, Fl; three step grandchildren, Whitney, Lindsey and Jonathan and his beloved dog, Gunther. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8p.m. in the funeral home.
