Sandra May "Sandy" Zeeb, 75, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2012) at Fair Havens Christian Home.
A service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 15, 2012) at Zion Chapel United Methodist Church, Boody, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound, IL and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Zion Chapel United Methodist Church, "DaFeet Dat Cancer" Relay for Life Team (American Cancer Society) or Fair Havens Christian Home.
Mrs. Zeeb was born on September 20, 1937 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Cecil and Mary (Ditmeyer) Cripe. Sandy married William Earl "Bill" Zeeb on November 25, 1969. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2012.
Sandy was an LPN for Dr. Mathias for 26 years and retired as a teller at the State Bank of Blue Mound in May of 2012. She was a member of Zion Chapel United Methodist Church, Blue Mound Women's Club and Relay for Life. She loved family gatherings, dancing, music, crafts, cooking for her family, Little Theater on the Square in Sullivan, dog shows, soap operas and especially watching her dear friend Lauralee Bell on The Young and the Restless. She also enjoyed traveling with Bill, often off the beaten path.
Surviving are her children: Mary (Michael) Ward Kinney of Decatur, IL, Mark (Elizabeth) Ward of Towanda, IL, Matthew (Julie) Ward of Decatur, IL, Melanie (Michael) Ward Gibala of Decatur, IL, Mitch (Regina) Ward of Macon, IL; step-children: Diane (Laverne) Ritter-Malone of Maroa, IL, Leon Zeeb of Paducah, KY, Joseph (Rita) Zeeb of Waverly, IA, Jefferey Zeeb of Taylorville, IL; step daughter-in-law: Susan Zeeb of Mt. Carmel, IL; brother: Cecil A. "Bud" (Elaine) Cripe, Jr. of Decatur, IL; 14 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 7 step-great grandchildren; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends; beloved cat: Daisy May.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her step-son: Jon Zeeb.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving staff of Fair Havens Christian Home for the extraordinarily compassionate care Sandy received, and to Dr. Muhammad N. Khan for the time he spent with Sandy and her family.
