Ruth E. Hite, age 90, of Vermilion, died Friday November 16, 2012 at the Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born on March 19, 1922 in Vermilion and has lived in the area all of her life. She was a 1938 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. She was a bank teller and Secretary to the President of the Citizens Banking Company in Lorain for many years. She was a member of the Zone Temple #86 Order of the Pythian Sisters, the Halcyon Chapter #347 Order of Eastern Star, where she was a Past Worthy Matron, the Echoes Club of Dendarah Court No. 10, and the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine of North America No. 10. She was also a member of the Turkeyfoot Clan #75, The Grand and Glorious Order of Hillbillys, and the Bunco Club. She was also a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Berlin Heights. She enjoyed crocheting and visiting with her family.

She is survived by her three sons Russell (Nancy) Hite, of Vermilion, Richard (Gayle) Hite, of Vermilion, and Donald (Jeanne) Hite, of New London, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orville A. Hite, her parents Leslie and Inez (Brundage) Bentley, and three sisters Thelma Manzo, Harriet Lippus, and Naida Demuth.
Friends may call on Tuesday November 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. Services will be held on Wednesday November 21 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational UCC on Main Street in Berlin Heights. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery near Vermilion.
