Robert Hunt Moran Sr., 84, of Williamsburg, VA, died peacefully at home on January 8, 2013 after an extended illness.
Born in North Plainfield, NJ, Bob was a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance, and was on active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.
Bob was retired from the IBM Corporation, where he worked in various sales, marketing and communications positions. In retirement, Bob was an active freelance researcher and technical writer.
A former member of Sons of the Revolution and The Rotary Club, Bob served on several Boards of Education both in public and private schools. Always a music fan, he loved jazz and was known for his humor.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jayne, his children: Karen Belford, Robert Moran Jr. (Missy), David Moran (Kathy), and Ellie Moran; and grandchildren: Matthew, Katie, Alexandra and Julia. Bob was predeceased by his daughter, Laura, and grandson, Brian.
A mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., on January 23, at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road. Interment will be private and held at a later date.
