Oscar Woods Jr. "Junebug", age 68, of Lorain passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born on January 3, 1945 in Barboursville, West Virginia to the late Oscar and Ruth (nee Baker) Woods Sr. Oscar made his career as a union iron worker for Local 17.
Oscar was a hard worker who enjoyed gardening, hunting and spending time in West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen Marie (nee McNeeley); son, Jesse, of Oberlin; daughters, Kim, of Vermilion, Cindy, of Jewett, OH, Lisa, of Lorain and Chiann, of Lorain; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Woods; sisters, Lucille Castle and Margaret Gunderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.
The Woods family will receive friends on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Private family funeral services will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the funeral home.
