Melissa Gail Allen Brown, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on December 13, 2012 at her residence. Melissa was born on August 5, 1960, in Rockdale, Texas, to Gail Allen Houdek and Jackie Lynn Allen. She married Jeffrey K. Brown, on September 18, 1981, in College Station, Texas. Melissa was a Bible believing Christian who belonged to Hill Country Bible Church-Austin-Lakeline Campus. She is survived by her parents and stepfather, Rick Houdek; her husband, Jeffrey K. Brown; son, Jeffrey K. Brown Jr. and wife Laci; granddaughter, Catherine Hope; son, Joshua K. Brown and wife Tara; brother, Michael Lynn Allen; and niece, Ashley V. Allen; as well as many other family and friends.

Melissa graduated from Bryan High School, in 1978 and graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, in 1983. After staying home to raise her young children for several years, Melissa worked as a title examiner, photographer and volunteered for several charitable organizations. At the time of her death, she was employed as an independent landman by Clayton Williams Energy, Inc.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Settlement Home, in Austin.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17th at the Hill Country Bible Church-Austin-Lakeline Campus, with Rev. Donnie Dixon officiating. 12124 Ranch Road 620 N., Austin, TX 78750. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, 330 Berry Lane, Georgetown. A Reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Berry Springs Park, 1801 CR 152, Georgetown, TX 78626.
