Max Webster Swenson
1929 - 2012

Max Webster Swenson age 83 died on November 12th 2012 at his home in Orem, Utah surrounded by his family.

He was born May 29, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Virga B. and Melvin L. Swenson. He graduated from Ogden High School and served an LDS mission in the Eastern States. Following his return he joined the US Army. While on a 10 day leave he married Annalene Wiberg on June 26th 1951 in the Logan Temple. After his discharge from the Army he went on to further his education at Weber College, BYU and USU.

He has touched many lives through his career as a teacher and counselor in the LDS Church Education System. His teaching took him to many places including Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Hawaii, New Zealand and Japan.

He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions on Stake and Ward levels. After his retirement from BYU he continued serving as a full time missionary with his wife to Ghana, Laos, the Phillippines and Alaska.

Max is survived by his wife, eight children and their spouses. Max Swenson of Anchorage, Alaska; Peggy Redd of Valrico, Florida; Debby Shakespeare of Vicenza, Italy; Sherilyn Heywood of Mesa, Arizona; Bob Swenson of Provo, Utah; Gary Swenson of Mason City, Iowa; Connie Kumpf of Castle Rock, Colorado and Mark Swenson of Los Angeles, California. He also leaves behind 31 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Nada Nicholas, Carma Bunnell and Arda Molen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00am at the Sharon Park 3rd Ward, 225 E 200 N Orem, Utah. Friends and family can visit at the church Friday evening 6:00-8:00 pm and prior to the service from 9:45-10:45 am. Interment at the Orem City Cemetery.
