COLUMBIA Memorial service for Marianne Hillhouse Frick, 64, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
Mrs. Frick died Thursday, February 14, 2013. Born in Anderson, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Harold Todd Hillhouse and Sara Vickery Hillhouse. She graduated from T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson and Tift College in Forsyth, Ga. Marianne began her teaching career in Anderson and taught for 28 years at E.L. Wright Middle School in Richland District Two. She was a member and past president of Forest Lake Ladies' Golf Association, member of the board of the South Carolina Women's Golf Association and past president of the S.C. Senior Women's Golf Association. For many years, she served as Chair of the Sonic Columbia City Women's Golf Tournament and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. She was a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Dr. Larry Joe Frick; brother, Robert Todd Hillhouse and his wife, Tina, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; stepsons, Larry Frick Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Charleston, Paul Frick and his wife, Angie, of London, England; stepdaughter, Lucia Humphrey and her husband, Grey, of Columbia; stepgrandchildren, Ames and Edye Humphrey of Columbia; stepmother, Lucile Frick Wentworth of Chapel Hill, N.C.; brother-in-law, Dr. John Frick and his wife, Dr. Donna Frick, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; nephews, Jason Todd Hillhouse of Palm Harbor, Fla., Cameron Frick of Cary, N.C.; nieces, Kelly Diane Hillhouse of Orlando, Fla. , Dr. Anna Frick of San Francisco, Calif.; her loved dog, Ivy and the Gamecock Nation. She was predeceased by a sister, Victoria Lee Hillhouse.
