MARGARET ARISPE ACUNA died on January 10, 2013 due to her battle with cancer and Alzheimer's. She was the alteration lady for the Pearland Smart Shop and was Chief Financial Officer for her husband's business for a number of years until her illness became too great. She was also an avid gardener; her specialties were orchids and roses. Mrs. Acuna is preceded in death y one baby daughter, Genevieve and one grandson, Jeremy Toops. Mrs. Acuna is survived by her husband, Edward Acuna Sr., along with six children: Edward Acuna Jr., League City, TX; Elida Livergood, Schertz, TX; Elia Acuna, Houston, TX; Eloisa Toops, League City, TX; Michael Acuna, League City, TX; and Martin Acuna, Houston, TX. Mrs. Acuna also had seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Acuna will be greatly missed and forever in their hearts. Visitation and Rosary for Mrs. Acuna will be held on January 16th at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N. Main St, Pearland Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Service Mass will be held on January 17th at 1:00pm at St. Helen's Catholic Church; 2210 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, TX; interment following the mass will be at South Park Cemetery (Across from South Park Funeral Home). Flowers may be sent to South Park Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Texas Oncology, Clear Lake, TX, Hospice Care Team, Lake Jackson, TX, or the Alzheimer's Association, Houston, TX.
