Linda Sue Akins, 64, of Powderly, passed away Thursday, November 08, 2012.
The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home followed by graveside services at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Long Cemetery with Rev. Jerry McDowell officiating.
Linda, the daughter of Alvie Dale & Wilma Beard Clark, was born July 20, 1948, in Kilgore, TX.
She was a member of Word of Life Fellowship Church where she taught Sunday School for twelve years in the 1-5 department.
Her father preceded her in death as did a brother, Dale Clark, and a sister, Vickie Gaither.
Survivors include her husband, Jody Akins, whom she married on Nov. 4, 1963, her mother, Wilma Folmar & husband James of Paris, three children, Mike Akins & wife Oleita of Powderly, Amanda Akins Broadway of Powderly and Beverly Ramsey & husband Grady of Mena, Arkansas, five grandchildren, Meagan, Kala, Ryan, Grady and Trever, two great grandchildren, Connor & Kensler, three sisters, Brenda Mantooth & husband Kenneth of Reno, Donna Seat & husband Jimmy of Powderly and Tammy Reeves & husband Steven of Paris along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Ryan Akins, Trever Bestul, Grady Ramsey, Jr., and Billy Eaton.
