Mr. Larry D. Keeney, age76, passed away in the presence of his family early Friday, November 30, 2012 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines. He was a life-long Carlisle resident and a long time self- employed carpenter and a retiree of John Deere in Ankeny. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Larry is a member of American Legion Post # 391and Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Albert (Red) and Ruby Ann Keeney and a sister Sharon Shepard. His close family survivors are his wife Norma Jean of Carlisle; daughters, Debbie (Paul) Peterson of Carlisle and Penny (Craig) Hein of Des Moines; sons, Lawrence (Sandy) Keeney of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Bryon (Brenda) Keeney of Indianola; nine grand -children, Tim (Maylee) Peterson, Laura Peterson, Chad (Cortney) Hein, Morgan (Joseph) Robbins, Ty Albert Keeney, Larry II Keeney, Presley Keeney, Jayce Keeney and Gavin Keeney; one great grandson, Joseph Robbins; Two sisters, Barbara Goode of Bondurant and Ailene Novack of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Memorial Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Carlisle. Memorials may be made to the Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
