Kevin L. "Hobie" Houghtlen, age 48, of Milan, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2012. He was born on November 2, 1964 in Sandusky, and has lived in the area his whole life. He was a 1983 graduate of Edison High School. He served in the US Navy. He worked at Bob's Auto Recovery for 20 years where he got the nickname "Hooter". He enjoyed restoring antique furniture, gardening and helping people.
He is survived by his mother Elizabeth (Reer) Houghtlen, his sisters Donya (Melvin) Lloyd, of Milan and Tresa Ohlemacher, who is working in Iraq, a brother Randy Houghtlen, of Sandusky, longtime companion B.J. Reese, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Fred, and his grandparents Fred and Christine Reer.
Friends may call on Sunday December 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights, where services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
