On November 27, 2012 dancer and founder of the Joyce Laverne School of Dance, Joyce LaVerne Simms, departed this life after a long illness at the age of 75. She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, one granddaughter, a host of relatives, friends and countless young dancers.
