Visitation will be held on January 30, 2013 from 10 am to 11 am at Laurel Land Funeral Home located at 6000 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232, followed by a Memorial at 12:00. The family will have a private burial.
John captured the heart of everyone he met. He was a very loving and kind-hearted little boy who loved to make everyone laugh. He loved and cared for his family and friends with a huge open heart. John was the best son and big brother that anyone could have asked for. John turned a bad day into the most beautiful day and taught people to live life to the fullest and to laugh everyday. John loved to joke around, play games, watch all cartoons and play outside. He was amazingly smart and had a natural curiosity that fostered a love of learning. He asked a lot of questions, and if asked why, he would reply that he wanted to have all the answers. John's love of God was reflected in his servant heart choosing always to be helpful and being the first to volunteer. John touched the lives of many people and will forever remain in everyone's hearts.
John was a sponge who would soak up any information you were willing to give him, then teach you your own lessons later when you needed reminding. John would do anything in his power to spend every waking hour outside unless there was a playstation game he needed to be a part of. He was a fish in the water and a monkey in a tree. He wasn't a typical six year old as his gentle smile and sparkling eyes let you know that he was wise beyond his years. John had a way of calming your soul in times of need or bringing you energy when you were down. John made you hang on to a hug for that extra second you needed, he squeezed the extra five minutes in before bedtime that he knew you wanted more than him, and he woke up early and insisted on the breakfast that you loved as much as him. John will be remembered as a life full of wonderful memories and non-stop action. John had a loving heart and was a bright light in all of our lives. He will be missed and remembered as an angel with our Lord and Savior.
John is survived by his mother Lauren Raidy Brooks, stepfather Chris Brooks, father Andrew Ellis, stepmother Kim Ellis, sisters Lily Brooks and Paxtyn Ellis, brother Coen Ellis, grandparents Steve Raidy, Anita Eads, and James and Karen Ellis, step grandparents Joe Brooks, Wendell Eads, Sandra Holloway, and Wendell and Gayle Romans. aunt Desiree Rogers, uncle Shaun Rogers, step uncles Michael Brooks and Steven Romans, step aunt Brook Romans, great grandparents Bill and Jill Law, Roy and Vernie Ellis, and Martha Krueger, step great grandparent Doris Billings. John was preceded in death by Uncle Phillip Ellis. John was also loved by his many extended family members and friends.
