If anything can be said about Dad is that he loved his family and his favorite futbol (soccer) team, Atlante to a fault. No matter our decisions in life (the good, the bad or the ugly) he just loved his kids unconditionally.
I can't personally recall this memory; however I was present at the World Cup in Mexico City at six months old. The memories I do recall are driving three days straight to visit family in Mexico over our family's early vacations when it was just myself and my brother Daniel. My other three brothers hadn't arrived yet. In later years the flights with my paternal Grandmother to spend summer vacation visiting various family members in Mexico.
Dad was always so excited for Daniel and I to visit our parents' homeland. One memory that has stuck with me was when our parents picked us up from the airport and I was talking away in full Spanish (not Spanglish) about our summer visit. Dad looked over at Mom and said, "I love hearing her speaking in Spanish". The little things are what mattered to him most.
On one of my visit with Ruben's god family, his god father took all of us out to eat. The Viscainos were a large family; he looked around the table at his wife and children and said to me, "see our children are our jewels". I know that Dad was of the same opinion.
I have many things to do until we meet again, so I will see you much later. Say hello to Pete for me. I miss you both, for now see you later alligator, after a while crocodile.
