Elizabeth L. "Betty" Benko (nee Gray), age 81 of North Ridgeville, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday December 18, 2012.
She was born in Lorain, she had resided in North Ridgeville the past 14 years. She previously lived in Fairview Park for 40 years.
A graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education, she taught in the Parma and Strongsville School systems for many years, until retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Benko was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church, North Olmsted.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy M. Benko of N. Ridgeville, sons, Paul Benko of LaGrange, Illinois and William (Heidi) Benko of Boise, Idaho , three grandchildren, brothers, Wellsley O. Gray of Lorain and Paul D. Gray of Amherst, sister, Nancy McBride of Bay Village.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest in 2010, daughter, Muriel in 2009, and her parents Wellsley and Nancy Gray.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday December 29, 2012 at John Knox Presbyterian Church 25200 Lorain Rd N. Olmsted. Rev. Dr. Tom MacMillian, Pastor will officiate. Private internment will take place in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
