DONNA LEWIS STALNAKER BRANT, age 75 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Tuesday morning, November 20, 2012 at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born Tuesday, September 21, 1937 at Beverly, WV a daughter of the late George Arnold and Juanita Esta Mae Lewis. She was twice married. First, on January 18, 1954 at Mill Creek, WV she was married to Wilson Harry Stalnaker, who preceded her in death April 2, 1984. Second, on October 11, 1993 at Elkins, WV she was married to William P. Brant, Sr., who preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Wilson A. "Buddy" Stalnaker and wife Kathryn, Beverly; five daughters, Barbara Currence and husband Henry; Nancy Starr and husband Cam; Bonnie Stalnaker Simmons and husband Gary, all of Beverly; Pamela C. Rosencrance and husband Richard, East Dailey; Kimberly R. Teter and husband Rob, Elkins; three stepsons, William P. Brant, Jr. and wife Brenda, MD; Marion "Pat" Brant, PA; R. A. Brant and wife Julie Ann, PA; four brothers, Glen E. Lewis and wife Agnes, KY; Arnold Ray "Bud" Lewis and wife Shirley, FL; Paul E. Lewis and wife Sandy, Morgantown; Alfred "Samp" Lewis and wife Brenda, Beverly; one sister, Linda Darlene McCollam and husband Bill, Elkins; eleven grandchildren, Matt Currence and wife Jennifer; Jessica Starr; Judson Starr; Brandon Stalnaker; Katie Stalnaker; Ashley Teter; Amy Teter; Erica Gladwell; William Gladwell; Richie Rosencrance; and Marc Simmons; and five great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are one daughter, Lea Donann Pritt; four brothers, Charles Junior; Luther Guy; Allen Dent; and Harry Eugene Lewis; and one sister, Lillian Lea Dewitt.
She attended the schools of Beverly and retired as a Housekeeper from Davis & Elkins College with twenty-three years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Friday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 12 PM. The Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Lewy Body Dementia Association 912 Killian Hill Road SW Lilburn, GA 30047.
