David Allen Cornelius, 59, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away surrounded by his family at 5:40 P.M. Sunday December 23, 2012 at his home in Hoopeston, IL. He was born January 29, 1953 in Paxton, IL, the son of George and Shirley (Boehme) Cornelius. He married DiAnna Longfellow on May 23, 1987 in Cissna Park, IL. She survives in Hoopeston.
He is also survived by his mother Shirley Cornelius of Hoopeston, IL; one daughter Megan (Mike) Gagnon of Danville, IL; one son Scott Cornelius of Hoopeston, IL; two sisters Vickie (Bill) Misner of Hoopeston, IL and Peggy Pajor of Danville, IL; two grandchildren Bodyn and Maya Gagnon, one niece and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father George Cornelius.
Dave worked for Food Machinery Corporation in Hoopeston for 32 years. He later worked for Bunge Milling Inc. in Danville, IL. He was currently employed by Greene Galvanized Stairs in East Lynn, IL. Dave was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman who enjoyed bow hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and especially his two grandkids.
