Crystal L. Cooke, age 28, resident of Shelby passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 9, 1984 in Shelby, the daughter of Don and Janice "Jinx" (King) Cooke. A 2003 graduate of Shelby Sr. High School, she was an Honor Student, Buckeye Girl State Delegate and a member of the Shelby Whippet Tennis Team, a sport she truly enjoyed. She was employed with WIL Research Laboratories in Ashland for over two years and had worked at the Animal Medical Center of Ohio and Pet Supplies Plus.
Crystal was a member of the First United Church of Christ and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. An animal lover, she enjoyed socializing with her friends, sports and traveling. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Craig Cooke of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; three half-siblings, Lori (Fred) Ashworth of Glenolden, Pennsylvania, Lisa Turpin of Dayton, and Wayne (Christina) Cooke of Centerville; her grandparents, Merlin and Alice King of Shelby; her beloved Pomeranian, Princess Pheobe, aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Aila Cooke.
Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Bob Flint will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Hospice of NCO, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, Ohio 44805 and The Meyer Cancer Research Fund, P.O. Box 183112, 660 Ackerman Rd., Columbus, OH 43218.
