Andrew Zajdler, 88, of Westlake, born in Poland; beloved husband for 66 years to Halina (nee Rutkowski); loving father of Peter (Debbie) and Yolanda; devoted grandfather of Sara and Teresa; cousin and friend of many. Passed away November 3, 2012. During WWII Mr. Zajdler was active in the Polish Resistance and served in the Home Army. He took part in the Warsaw Uprising, August 1st, 1944, and spent 8 months in a POW camp. He and Halina met and married in Germany in 1946, he finished college in London and they moved to the United States in 1952. He was a very talented man and held many engineering positions. He was active with the Cleveland Chapter of his Home Army and its Veterans. He loved nature and enjoyed camping and fishing. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the St. Augustine Hunger Center, 2486 W. 14th Street, Cleveland, 44113 or to St. Cazimir Church, 8223 Sowinski Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Holy Trinity Church, 33601 Detroit Rd., Avon, Oh. at 10:00am on Saturday, November 10th. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
