On Sunday morning, November 4, 2012, Alice Waters Holland, 86, of Goldsboro, moved to her Heavenly home. Alice was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
Alice was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 1, 1926 to the late Clarence Edward Thomas Waters and Minnie Powell Waters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Holland. Alice was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
A service remembering the life of Alice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Chapman; son, Eric Downing of Atlanta, GA; three grandsons, Eric Long, Marqarius Harris and Cecil "Tommy" Chapman; four granddaughters, Ericca Downing, Erin Downing, Erielle Downing and Erion Downing; and three great-grandchildren, Cecil Chapman II, Tlejah Chapman and Giovanni Harris.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 9, 2012 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
