Aileen M. Benjamin, age 78, of Adrian, passed away, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Gulfside Regional Hospice in Zephyrhills, FL.

She was born to Henry and Margaret (Johnston) Stanley on December 26, 1933. On December 2, 1955, she married Calvin Benjamin in Hudson and he survives. In her earlier years, she worked for Dr. Abraham in Hudson and also the Kroger Store in Hudson. Upon their marriage, she and Calvin Kyle moved to Adrian and Aileen had various jobs, including, working for the Daily Telegram and then for Hudson Area Schools for 23 years, retiring in 1994. Her favorite job though was driving the cars for Adrian Chrysler. Since 1999, Aileen and Calvin have wintered in Florida, spending six months there and six in Michigan. She was a member of the Hudson United Methodist Church.

In addition to her loving husband of 57 years, Calvin, she is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Renate) Benjamin of Morenci, MI; three daughters, Dawn Duncan of Clayton, Kathy Ekman of Palmyra and Kara (Kevin) Choate of Adrian; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Larry Stanley; a son-in-law, James Duncan; and a grandson, Chris Shaw.

Visitation for Aileen will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Private burial of cremains will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson. Condolences may be sent to the family at Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
