Christopher Lynn Pickett, 43, of Vermilion, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home.

Chris was born December 25, 1974 in Amherst, OH and had been a life long Vermilion resident.

He graduated from Vermilion High School.

Chris worked for Oglesby Construction, Inc. doing paint striping and working on the highways, he had also worked for Maintenance Systems as a driver and paving asphalt. He was a member of Local Union 480 in Sandusky.

He was a member of Vermilion First Assembly of God. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Christopher A (Samantha Phillips) Pickett of Oberlin; daughter, Erica Pickett of Norwalk; his grandson, Jaxson Phillips; mother, Wanda Pickett of Vermilion; brothers, Kurtis Ball of Mansfield, and Kevin Ball of Youngstown; his sister, Kathene (Scott ) Adams of Vermilion; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Pickett.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 5-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Pennington will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
