Nevett Steele Matton, 90, died peacefully on January 15, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Toledo, OH in 1922, she grew up in Annapolis, was a long-time resident of Virginia Beach, and has resided at Ginger Cove Retirement Community in Annapolis for the past 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Captain W. George Matton, Jr., USN (Ret.). She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Captain William G. Matton, III, USN (Ret.)(Mary), Captain Michael N. Matton, USN (Ret.)(Tori), and Stephen J. Matton (Rosemary), her loving grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She is also remembered by her brother Charles H. Steele and his family of Annapolis.
Burial is private.

My deepest sympathy to the Matton family. It was a pleasure and honor to be with Mrs. Matton at Ginger Cove Assisted Living. She was a dear lady and always had a smile and a wave. She was so proud of her family. She will be greatly missed.
