Condolence & Memory Journal

I served Mrs. Bradford at Western Sizzlin. She was always so nice and friendly to me and she seemed like a really good hearted woman. We will miss her at the store. Our thoughts and prayers to the family.
Love,
Erica

To my sister Jo. If only there was a telephone line to heaven so I could call you just to laugh about some of our inside jokes and to remind you that "you have people" and especially on this Thanksgiving Eve. I'm thankful for the friendship we've had, all the time we've spent cheering each other up on dreary days and a million other memories. I'm thankful you didn't take your umberella away from me and all the laughs we had over that. I'm thankful we talked just hours before you left us here on earth. I'm thankful my last words to you were "Tell my Big Brother I love him and I love you too." and your last to me was "I love you too." I'm thankful you didn't linger and suffer; I cry for me because you're gone. I miss you more than you could have imagined. I love you my sister.

Tom, Tommy, Tina, Shelly & other family members,

I want to send my condolences for the loss of Jo. I still have a lot of memories going to Jo's house with Tommy & Clara or Tina. I will never forget these memories. I am not sure why God called her home, but he apparently has something greater for her. She is now an Angel to watch over all of you. I know it will be hard, very hard, to overcome the loss, but may God give you comfort through this trying time. One day we will all see her again. I can say she is with other family members that were called before her. I do know the pain that comes when it is your wife of 53 years or your Mom, grandmother. You definately cannot replace them! Just try to stay strong. My prayers are with you all & hopefully you will be able to overcome the sorrow. I am so sorry I cannot be there, but I too have just lost a loved one & it would be really hard for me as well. I love all of you & still consider you a part of my family.

What a true Saint of God. We have known you all for a long time but had just in the past few years reconnected when you all started coming to our church. Jo would call me and tell me she loved me and I would call and check on her about every week. I so enjoyed doing the music at church with her. She played the organ and I played the piano. She would say " We really do sound good together." I truly loved her and will miss her so much.
Bro. Tom and family we know that your hearts are so heavy. We can't take the pain away but we can stand by your side and pray for God to give you peace and comfort. One great thing we do know is that her new life has began and we have more to go to heaven for than we did last week. May God keep you and wrap His loving arms around you.
We love you!

It was such a shock when Bro. Bradford called to tell me about Jo's passing. She was such a good friend. She called and checked on us all the time. My husband had been sick and had surgery and I wasn't able to talk to her as much recently as I had in the past. She was very caring and wanted to make sure we were doing okay. We are sure going to miss her.
Our prayers are with the family.
We pray that God will comfort you in this time of loss.

Getting this phone call this morning about Sis. Jo was an absolute shock. There are no words that can tell you how our hearts feel at this time. I'm so blessed to have known Sis. Jo. She was truly a lovely lady. She loved the Lord and she loved family and she loved having friends. I'm so thankful she was part of my church family. Thank you, Bro. Tom, for making our church your church and allowing us to know her. I know you are going to miss her terribly. What can I say to you to make you feel better? I can say the same thing you've said to me since Mom died.."I am praying for you". Those prayers are what gets us through these hard times in our lives and you KNOW your church family is praying for you and your family. The last thing she said to me Sunday night as she was being helped to the car was "I love you, Sweetie". I love her and I will NEVER forget her. I pray God wraps His arms around you and holds you ever so tight.
