I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed Shirley as a friend the past 20 years that we have lived in Ainsworth. We are very saddened by her death. We both enjoyed her sweet spirit so very much. Shirley helped me a few years with the Kids Zone after school program. She always loved to help with the little ones--in Kindergarten or 1st grade. She would save plastic containers and oatmeal boxes for my preschoolers' crafts. Each fall I would visit to gather the tiny pine cones in her front yard for projects. She was always active in many church activities, so it was wonderful to see her at church frequently. She was always a hard worker and that was evident in her gardening and yard work as well. What a beautiful yard she had, which everyone loved to drive by in the different seasons to see what was in bloom!
She will be truly missed by so many. We will miss her and remember her fondly. Our prayers go out to you and all the extended family. May God bless you with rich memories and comfort you with his unending love.

"Shirley was about 3-4 years older than me. If she wasn't busy with school funtions, she was helping Aunt Helen with dinners, etc. I always looked up to her as someone really special with super talents. I remember how fast she could dry dishes and also how talented she was when she led the parades in Bridgeport. I'm certain everyone wanted to be just like her. She could sure twirl that batton. She was truly someone we all looked up to. She made the family some beautiful memories as I am certain she did with her family. She was a very caring person."
