Delois Covell, 72, of Sherwood passed away Sunday, February 24th, 2013. She was born December 22nd, 1940 to Hershel and Elsie Meeks Wallis.
Delois was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed sewing and loved cooking for her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by many. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Mikels.
She is survived by Wayne Covell; her sons, Kevin Covell (Asha) of Sherwood, and Kirk Covell (Lora) of North Little Rock; four grandchildren, Matt, Lane, Zach, and Kassell; and a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 28th, 2013 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock(501)835-3515 with Bro. Hugh Yarbrough officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to help offset funeral expenses.

I was so surprised to see this obit in the newspaper. I knew Delois in the late 50's and early 60's, when we both worked in the Lakehill Shopping Center in North Little Rock. I worked at Ben Franklin the same time she did and this is also when I met my husband. Delois was such a sweet friendly outgoing person. She was always positive and cheerful, and had a smile that could light up an entire room. I remember her being so excited about marryimg Wayne. Delois was a true friend to me, we moved away and I lost contact. My sympathy to all the family

Tom and I have wonderful memories when Wayne , Dee, Kevin and Kurt would visit us in Albuquerque. They always helped us with any project we had going, Dee babysat Brent when we lived in Arkansas. Charlotte loved going to Uncle Wayne's and Aunt Dee's and getting spoiled. We love all of you!!!!!! Uncle Tom and Aunt Doris.

My favorite moment of "Ms.Dee", was when she was teaching me sewing skills & techniques. She truly was the best in every relationship she had. She will be missed and never forgotten.

"Ms.dee, keep an arm around all the relationships you have created, I love you & it's so hard day by day to go to work & know that you won't be coming to work & letting me in, us laying out and tagging in clothes, all the times I watched you sewing will be the moments that I cherish most! ;,,,(

Miss Dee was such a joy to know. Anytime it was time to go see the "ladies" Max & Eby would get so excited! They & I knew they'd get their Love & affection as soon as we pulled into the drive at Capital Cleaners. I was shocked to hear she'd passed. In fact it still doesn't feel real. I'm sure that God has a special place for her, because she was such a kind soul on earth. Our thoughts & prayers go out to the family at this very difficult time.

Miss Dee would light up any place she chose to be..When she came to work she had a smile on her face and would come to each an everyone of us with a hug and good morning...Her lose will be missed...

My favorite memories of Dee was in her kitchen. She was always cooking! Her spagetti was the best, and Kirk's favorite. Also, her strawberry shortcake was delicious, and I continue to use her recipe and think of her when I make it! I have very fond memories of her!

I treasure all the wonderful memories of knowing Ms. Dee (as I called her). I knew her when she work at Godsey Cleaners and then worked with her at Capitol Cleaners.

She was always a pleasure to be around. She worshiped her family; her grandsons were her life.I'm still in shock. It won't be the same without her. She always greeted the customers with a smile and went out of her way to help them.
