Dear Joh...I'm here at work at Nike sitting in my cube with tears streaming down my face. I thought of you just minutes ago and Google'd you to see if there was any news of you or your family. I've checked many, many times over the years. The news of your passing is difficult to accept, like that of Bud's so many years ago, but it emboldens me to step out of the shadows of my recluse life to leave this note. Thank you for your caring and acceptance over the years...and for your wonderful laugh. Love, Ernie

To the Family of Joh.... I just heard that Joh died last week and I'm so sad to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing Joh when I lived in Iowa City and worked at the U of I Hospitals back in the mid-1980's. I remember when Will was born! How excited she was to become a mom! Joh was a wonderful and dear friend and she always had time to listen. I also remember how she

I went to high school with jo at Regina. She was great to be around those 4 years and was impressed that she went to the military. Of course I always remember if she was going to do something she didn't mess around and did it. You will be missed, my condolenses to the family.

I lived in coralville and worked with Jo at the UofI hospital in the early to mid 80"s. She was such a fun and thoughtful person and was a great roomate. I haven"t seen her for a while, but am sad to hear of her passing. Hopefully she is in a better place and healthy now.

To joh's family, i am very sorry for your loss. Joh was one of the bright spots in my day. i enjoyed being able to care for here at the home. Her laughter, smiles, and hugs will be missed more than i can say. She was a rock for us, the nurses aides. I know she is happy now that she can be wearing her flip flops and that she isn't in pain. Miss you Joh.

Jo, Jeff (hubby) asked me if I had seen your obit in the paper. I thought he was jesting and I said "no". He told me that you had passed away. You are the one person that I figured nothing would overcome you. You were always so vibrant with life. I always knew it was going to be a good day in church when you were there. I am sorry that we lost each other but thankfully found each other

My dear Jo,
Getting to know you was sheer delight. We had ourselves a bunch of good visits, finding the sun admired the flowers and watched birds ride the thermals. Went out for treats. Told each other stories. You told me about your terrific boy. He had a terrific mom.
I picture you with the angels in heaven, getting all of them loosened up to have a great big giggle fest--gotta' keep those endorphins coming! And clad in tie-dye! I miss you. b,
