Verna's life was filled with loving family and friends who all cherish their memories of her. Born in 1921 Verna was a home maker and care giver for most of her life. She lived to see 16 different US presidents hold office, experienced the Great Depression, war, and social change. She also cared for her parents, her beloved husband Nick, and her three children. Her first child, Lyle, died of leukemia at five years old. She was subsequently blessed with

She lived to see 16 different US presidents hold office, experienced the Great Depression, war, and social change. She also cared for her parents, her beloved husband Nick, and her three children. Her first child, Lyle, died of leukemia at five years old. She was subsequently blessed with two daughters a few years later. Through the loss of her son, her father, her husband, and her mother she remained faithful, trusting in God and in the promise he makes to us all through Christ our Lord.

I am the beneficiary of Vernas' legacy having been married to her youngest daughter Connie for 35 years. God saw fit to bless me with a loving spouse whose kind and nurturing spirit in turn became a blessing to Verna in her elder years. Life is never without purpose or plan. Verna was blessed and became a blessing to others. She leaves a legacy of two daughters, four grandchildren, and a life lived as a testament to her abiding faith in Him who calls us all home in due time.
