Memories & Candles
Our prayers are with Cate and all the family of Mrs. Ila Verne "Sallye"Franks. I am glad that I got to know Mrs. Franks for she was a very special lady. Her life blessed so many people, including mine. My memories of her involve pianos and amazing music; a welcoming and gracious hostess; a loving mother with courageous and beautiful stories about her family; great food; and a dynamo, fun personality that spoke truth in a practical, down-to-earth manner. She made this world better by her presence. Love, Nancy and Bob

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Mrs. Franks was truly a force of nature, a very strong lady. She raised some mighty fine kids, too. I think of you all often and with much affection. Love always, Kay

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this very difficult time. I helped take care of her when I was working at Dudneywood. And I must say she touched my heart and my life in so many ways. She was very sweet and always had a smile on her face. She will be deeply and truely missed, but will never be forgotten.

Dear Nancy... just thinking of you at this very special time. I know the pain, the loss, the emptiness that is now surrounding you but I also know the comfort and joy; that your mom is in a wonderful place, leaping and dancing and probably seated at a huge concert grand piano and playing with nimble fingers. Take care of yourself, remember all the good things, let go of any bad and know you'll see her again... Love you!

Under "your relationship" I wanted to write "non-biological daughter" but that probably would have confused some people. Some of my most wonderful memories during Jr. High and High School were spent in Mama Sallye's home, spending Friday nights with Nancy and staying for lunch on Saturdays for her homemade vegetable beef soup and whatever pie she had made that day - the BEST soup and the BEST pie EVER. I will always treasure those times and I am so thankful to have been a part of those memories. Love you Mama Sallye and I will see you again.
