ISC Shannon P. Blake, USN Obituary

Fought side by side Shannon on USS STETHEM. A great soul, sailor, and human. The universe only takes the best from us. He is onto much bigger and more important things. Things that we cannot even comprehend. He made me a better person and for that I am eternally grateful. Love you brother, please watch over us.

Hard to believe it has been almost a year, Chief. We all miss you dearly, and wish we had you to guide us this past year into our own. I like to think you still do, and we hope you are at peace. We will remember you always.

Thoughts and prayers go out to your family Blake, I'm so sorry to have read about this. I remember when you arrived to the Stethem. We were in the same workcenter and worked together every day for a couple of years, from which many good memories come to mind. I knew he would make a great sailor and so sorry that a promising and energetic life was cut short. RIP

I'm so saddened to hear of my fellow Chief Shannon's passing!! It seems all of the good ones go early. I served with him on board USS Stethem and he ALWAYS had a smile on his face!! I'm a better person for knowing him!!

A professional and shipmate in the truest sense of the terms.

Steve and Linda,
I can't tell you how sad I am to hear of your loss. Steve and my Tom (who passed in 2004) would talk so many times about Shannon and the military and fishing. I pray for you both and know that our kind and loving Lord will give you some peace. Loosing a child is the most tortuous event known.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steve & Linda and the rest of the Blake family. May God comfort you through this most difficult period. We know you must be extremely thankful for the opportunity you had to spend time with Shannon recently.
