I'm so saddened to hear of my fellow Chief Shannon's passing!! It seems all of the good ones go early. I served with him on board USS Stethem and he ALWAYS had a smile on his face!! I'm a better person for knowing him!!

Steve and Linda,
I can't tell you how sad I am to hear of your loss. Steve and my Tom (who passed in 2004) would talk so many times about Shannon and the military and fishing. I pray for you both and know that our kind and loving Lord will give you some peace. Loosing a child is the most tortuous event known.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steve & Linda and the rest of the Blake family. May God comfort you through this most difficult period. We know you must be extremely thankful for the opportunity you had to spend time with Shannon recently.

Blake Family. I served with your son. He was my teammate and I considered him my Brother. Regrettably, I had lost touch with Shannon over the past year. During our time, while serving together, on many occasions, Shannon and I talked about our childhoods. We had much in common in the way we grew up. Know that he spoke of his upbringing, his family and childhood friends fondly and often. He had good memories. Also know, that Shannon had my

He had a big heart and was a good man. His sense of humor and that goofey smile, will be missed by many. My thoughts are with you.

Brother, you have left us absolutely baffled. You wore it on your sleeve Bro. This is what the team appreciated about you. You left little to consider. We knew where you were coming from 100% of the time. You were no wildcard. You could look your Brother in the eye, and provide TRUTH. No matter how difficult it would be to say, or to hear. You wanted the machine to work and understood that honesty and courage were the most

You wanted the machine to work and understood that honesty and courage were the most effective tools. I respected this. It’s because of these attributes that will leave us forever puzzled. Brother, I hope you have found your heaven and are at PEACE. The demons, gone. Forever Brothers. RIP.
