Ohhh, Miss LaVerne, sooo many memories of sooo many years. Her smile, her laughter, everything she taught my daughters about life, discipline and dance.
All 3 daughters and 3 nieces took lessons for many years, the moms' waiting room conversations while our daughters practiced, the rehearsals, the costume designs, fittings, pictures, and of course, the shows at Prince George's Community College. I think we have at least 30 trophies!!! My prayers are with all those who loved her.

May you rest in peace

My deepest condolences to the family. I had the opportunity to take adult classes at Joyce LaVerne's studio for several years, and she also trained my daughter (Ce'Aira Simmons) and my niece (KeAira Grimes). Ms LaVerne has touched many lives during her lifetime, which is truly a blessing. I am glad she shared her dance expertise and knowledge with me and my family. Ms. LaVerne will truly be missed. I pray the family will find comfort in knowing she is in a better place.

My condelences to the family, friends, and students of Joyce Laverne (aka Ms. Laverne). She will be deeply missed her dedication, love, and appreciation for the art of Dance (Ballet) will live forever. May loving memories comfort you at this time.

How eronic: Ms. Laverne passed away on the evening of the finale of her FAVORITE show Dancing With The Stars, even in death she has away of "taking the stage" for her final bow.

RIP Joyce
