Henry Charles "Chuck" LaClair

Cambridge Henry Charles LaClair, "Chuck", 72, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in the Town of White Creek. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Joyce) LaClair.

Born Friday, April 5, 1940 in Colchester, Vermont, he was the son of Frances M. (Bellman) LaClair of Shelton, Connecticut and the late Clement Noel LaClair. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Navy and served for two years.

After the Navy, Chuck moved to Connecticut where his parents had relocated. He met Patty and they were married May 12, 1962.

While working fulltime, he attended the University of Bridgeport and earned his Associate's Degree.

He worked for General Electric, in Bridgeport, as an electrician until he was transferred to the Waterford, NY plant from which he retired in 2000. Two years ago, he and Patty moved to Cambridge to be near family.

Chuck enjoyed dirt bike riding and was a member of the Milford Riders in Connecticut.

Along with his devoted wife of 50 years and his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Sherri A. Guile and husband Robert of Cambridge and Nichole Porter of Glens Falls; two grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew Guile; a brother, Thomas LaClair of Ansonia, CT; a sister-in-law, Frances J. Weed of Cambridge; two nieces, Donna Nemer and Laura Woodcock and several cousins.

A private memorial service is being held on November 9, 2012. Burial of ashes will take place at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
