While we may not have been blood related, my Grandma Allen was the one I was the closest to & have nothing but fond, happy memories of. She married my Grandfather when I was just 2 yrs old. And to me, she will always be my g-ma & will hold dear to my heart forever! Since we are not biologically related, I have had no way of knowing what happened to her until a family member of mine did a research on her yesterday (1/5/13), as I have not been able to reach her by telephone for quite some time. I was so saddened to learn my favorite Grandma had passed almost a year and a half ago & I was just now finding out. I wept for hours yesterday. I will truly miss calling her every June 8th to wish her a Happy Birthday & other various times throughout the year. She would get so excited every time I called & would say "Hi Grandma!" She would always get this sweet laugh and respond by saying "Well, well.. Hi my sweet Sonya!" At age 40, I still have your blanket that I took as a baby and carried everywhere, along with the "Floppsy-Moppsy bunny stuffed animal & music box you and Grandpa gave to me as a small child. I know that you have gone to Heaven for sure, as you were the sweetest, most caring, loving woman I have ever known. I can visualize you in Heaven doing my Mother's hair laughing & chatting away. Until we meet again one day... Please know I will cherish you in my mind & heart forever!! I Love You!!! <3>
